Modern au Hiccup getting taken out on a Father & Son hunting trip a few months after after coming out to celebrate. One of the most affirming yet horrifying experiences of his life but he can shoot a hunting rifle now, so that's something.

(At least it wasn't as bad as his tenth birthday gift; rabbit butchering lesson. Berk is just Like That though)

I meant to ask earlier this evening (hence this coming in at a heinous time for us lol),but if Zeke and Gortash were to have a private dinner - either for business or pleasure - what sort of food and drink would be served?

the answer to this would probably vary wildly so i’m using this as an opportunity to ramble about another scene in my head, hope that’s alright with you. this is set pre-game and i’d imagine it being a celebration of the anniversary of their partnership (originally intended to be a birthday party for zeke, but apparently durge doesn’t have a birthday? whatever this is fine too.) and zeke receives a coded letter from the counsellor formally inviting him to celebrate their union in a massive property near the edge of town. when zeke wanders through the massive garden that certainly could be described as a small forest on the grounds to the chateau he of course immediately takes notice of the surroundings—every detail, every little opening that could be used to escape should the need for one arise. a servant (zeke mind notes: movements are clumsy—seemingly not used to this position of work? unusually sweaty for this time of the year, tie is slightly undone as they keep fidgeting with it—nervous? about what? be on edge.) opens the doors for him and leads him to a room (zeke mind notes: 2 large windows he’d fit through, a door leading to the garden, 4 servants, one of them dressed in different garbs than the others, room is disgustingly perfectly decorated to the finest details, so it was most definitely done by either gortash himself or under his strict supervision. show off.) with one of those massive, long dinner tables laid out with two sets of fine cutlery and a huge plate covered by one of those bell-shaped covers. gortash is sitting at one end and amiably invites zeke to do the same. as he sits down and gortash starts musing about the plans for the evening, two servants take the covers off their plates (zeke mind notes: these people are so jittery and clumsy—not gortash’s usual standard of slaves he keeps around him at all.) revealing two crossbows and gortash challenges him to a hunt in the forest filled with wildlife on the property—hunting their dinner themselves, and he does note that surely there would be something to suit his… unique palettes, should zeke wish to sate them. (yes the servants are poor people from the streets brought in with false promises of a job and money to act as prey for their sick games. they are fucking deplorable lmao)

and y’know. it wouldn’t be gortash and zeke if their biggest target prey during this challenge wasn’t actually just the other.

The government is scared of the left entirely for structural reasons.

Crazy people talk about the "shadow government" a lot - but it's just unelected functionaries that keep things running.

A lot of the time its the corporations that keep your water and power going. Sometimes it's the CIA doing what they were told to do when they started.

During the American revolution it was the local functionaries that kept roads working, stopped people from dumping poo into the street, all the things essential to organize people to make food and other goods and move em around.

England was too far away to govern directly, so these people just took over after the revolution. Central America was set up by the Spanish and the Spaniards that did it there left instead of siding with the revolution.

(That's why their revolutions led to third world countries instead of trading partners with huge plantations and organized armies. No one was left to organize the business of keeping shit and dead bodies off the street, and make sure food and the less important things were made and moved around.)

The far right should be objectively more scary, but they do that by getting a lot of guns and walling themselves off in a compound. Eventually they get Waco-ed. That's easy to deal with.

The left wants to move food (and other, less important things) around to people who need it, keep the streets clean, give people a good place to live and good jobs.

It's not about ideology. A lot of the left's ideology is increasingly puritanical, self defeating, weirdly divisive, and/or just retarded. The government loves and encourages that.

But the Black Panthers made sure people in their communities could eat, have jobs, and be safe. The government needed to do everything they could to disrupt that. And for that the CIA made sure every leader was assassinated, and has been funding and supporting dupes like the violent rapist who thought up "Kwanzaa" (look it up. Though keep in mind the CIA literally has agents on staff at Wikipedia) and the girl in your local leftist community with an upper class family who they caught with a bag of weed and Adderall and flipped. The one who argues excessively about language and procedure even and especially when it interferes with the process of keeping people fed and safe.

But no one's gonna read this are they? Because the kind of things that take off are the kind of things that upper class connected but so relatable "UwU I worked as a bartender vote for me" type of girl posts.

Ah well. Back to petting my cats and making sure I'm fed, safe, and the other less important things. The government won't do it for me. There's no community to help. I can't really help provide one part of that to others that they take care of the rest. We're all on our own, as designed.

And my God, I wish I figured out how to get this on my phone - I have ALL notifications off but no matter how many tutorials I go through, I cannot get rid of those tiny little numbers next to the app icons. i appreciate you asking, anon<3 a lot of people just straight up trace my art (i see you, you little stealers. you are not slick. you are fooling nobody) and it pisses me off, but i understand it’s usually an uphill battle trying to get credited or have someone take it down. i promise that tracing being used for quicker results will slow your progress in the long run. tracing has its place for certain exercises when you’re learning but it should never be passed off as your own, imo. sorry for random lil rant lmao ANYWAYS

so yes!! i’d much prefer people use it as reference and learn the right way :> and show me the results if ur comfy with it!
